The annual European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) is the main European forum for the presentation of new research results in the field of Information Retrieval. In 2012, the thirty fourth ECIR conference (ECIR 2012) will be held in Barcelona, Spain from the 1st to the 5th of April 2012. Specifically, in one of the campuses of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF): Ciutadella campus, c/Ramon Trias Fargas, 25-27, 08005 Barcelona. This campus is located at 20 minutes walking distance from the city centre, and it is next to a metro station (Ciutadella Vila Olímpica, Line 4), as well as buses and tram stops. The main venue of the conference will be the Auditorium, a room of 596 m2, which can accommodate up to 350 delegates.
Since 1978, ECIR has successfully brought together leading researchers and developers from the information retrieval community in Europe and increasingly in recent years from across the world.
