Call for Sponsors

The annual European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) is the main European forum for the presentation of new research results in the field of Information Retrieval. In 2012, the thirty fourth ECIR conference (ECIR 2012) will be held in Barcelona, Spain from the 1st to the 5th of April 2012. Specifically, in one of the campuses of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF): Ciutadella campus, c/Ramon Trias Fargas, 25-27, 08005 Barcelona. This campus is located at 20 minutes walking distance from the city centre, and it is next to a metro station (Ciutadella Vila Olímpica, Line 4), as well as buses and tram stops. The main venue of the conference will be the Auditorium, a room of 596 m2, which can accommodate up to 350 delegates.

Since 1978, ECIR has successfully brought together leading researchers and developers from the information retrieval community in Europe and increasingly in recent years from across the world. The conference focuses on established and emerging problems in the field of information retrieval and helps to shape future research directions through the publication of high quality, applied and theoretical research findings.

ECIR 2012 will feature high quality programme including long and short papers, posters, demonstrations, workshops & tutorials as well as an Industry Day. Attendees at ECIR will be exposed to results and experiences from the latest research and be able to network with the leading researchers and practitioners in the field in the field of information retrieval. ECIR offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities suitable for organizations of all sizes. Sponsors of ECIR gain visibility for their companies and contribute to the success of the conference. Four levels of sponsorship are available at ECIR 2012 and bring the following benefits:

• Platinum sponsor, €5,000: Prominent recognition as a platinum sponsor on registration brochures, the proceedings and on the conference programmes. A double-sized exhibit booth throughout the conference and two complimentary conference registrations (incl. proceedings, reception and banquet tickets). Opportunity to distribute company provided items with the conference pack and at the conference desk.
• Gold sponsor, €2,500: Prominent recognition as a gold sponsor on registration brochures, the proceedings and on the conference programmes. A single-sized exhibit booth throughout the conference and one complimentary conference registration. Opportunity to distribute company provided items with the conference pack and at the conference desk.
• Silver sponsor, €1,250: Recognition as a silver sponsor on registration brochures, the proceedings and on the conference programmes. Opportunity to distribute a flyer with the conference pack and at the conference desk.
• Bronze sponsor, €600: Recognition as a bronze sponsor on registration brochures, the proceedings and on the conference programmes. Opportunity to distribute a flyer at the conference desk or with the conference pack.

In-kind sponsorships (from €1000 to €15,000. Including a sponsorship level) that directly defray the costs of the conference are also welcome. These may, for example, take the form of student travel scholarships, award sponsorships, coffee breaks, lunches, receptions, or the conference banquet). In these cases, the sponsor name is prominently displayed at the sponsored activity, in the proceedings and the conference programmes as well as being identified as the appropriate level of sponsor (see above). Optional in-kind sponsorship options include:

• Main conference Banquet (€15,000, includes platinum sponsorship)
• Welcome Reception (€8,000, includes gold sponsorship)
• Free Workshops & Tutorials - estimated at 150 attendees (€7,500, includes gold sponsorship)
• Proceedings printing (€4,000, includes silver sponsorship)
• Lunch for one day of the main conference (€3,600, includes silver sponsorship)
• Conference Bags (€3,000, includes silver sponsorship)
• One Coffee Break (€2,000, includes bronze sponsorship)
• Graduate student sponsorship (€1,000)
