Accommodation

Barcelona receives a large number of tourists every year, and therefore it offers many types of accommodation, suited to all budgets. What follows is a list of possible examples of accommodation that attendees of ECIR 2012 could book, including descriptions as well as potential rates.

Residences

Delegates may choose accommodation among the following college residences, which are mostly occupied by students throughout the year. However, they also can accommodate researchers on a daily basis. All rooms are en suite and include kitchen, air conditioning, TV, and Internet connection. All residences are operated by RESA.

• Campus del Mar: located in the Barceloneta area, very close to the conference venue and nearby the beach with the same name. Rates for a single room are €63.50 in weekdays and €49.50 during the weekends. For double rooms, the prices are €94 and €80 during the weekdays and weekend, respectively. • La Ciutadella: located at less than 10 minutes walk from the conference venue, right besides a city park called Parc de la Ciutadella, which hosts Catalonian parliament buildings between other attractive places, like the zoo, museum of natural history, and a small lake. Rates are 65 for a single room, and €86.50 for double room. Saturday and Sunday these rates change to €49 and 70, respectively. Contact at ciutadella@resa.es.

There is a special price per night for attendees of ECIR 2012 in all residences:

• Single Room: €51 (includes taxes and breakfast).
• Double Room: €82 (includes taxes and breakfast).

There is a limited number of rooms available at this price in all residences (La Ciutadella: 1 double room, Campus del Mar: 3 single rooms and 7 double rooms). Please note that the rooms are not reserved for the conference, so it's best to make a reservation as soon as possible. To make a reservation you have to send an e-mail to the residence e-mail address. In addition, you can make the reservation on the RESA website, which is also cheaper. Remember to indicate that you belong to UPF Community, otherwise the special rates won't apply.

Additional residences are operated by the same company, which provides very similar services and comparable rates. However, they are not so close to the conference venue (see http://www.resa.es/ for additional information).

Hotels

Barcelona also offers a large number of hotels. We recommend searching for hotels in http://www.atrapalo.com/hoteles/.

HOTEL Novotel Barcelona City is 10 minutes by tramway to the conferece venue and it has 10 rooms available for the conference, from April 1st to April 5th, at the following rates:

• Single Room: €102 per night, taxes and breakfast included.
• Double Room: €112 per night, taxes and breakfast included.
• Suite supplement: €60 per night, taxes and breakfast included.
